Prospective Marriage (subclass 300)
This visa is for applicants who are engaged to and intend to marry their sponsor after arrival in Australia. The sponsor must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident or an eligible New Zealand citizen.

Spouse/Partner Migration (subclass 309/100)
This visa is for applicants already who are married to their sponsor and who are in a genuine and continuing marital relationship. The sponsor must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident or an eligible New Zealand citizen.

VISA APPLICATION
PROCESS

Step 1

Select a visa subclass which is appropriate for the purpose of your travel to Australia and download the relevant visa application form.

Please note: You can also obtain a visa application form at the Australian Visa Application Centre (AVAC).

Step 2

Your visa application may require supporting documentation For a list of supporting documentation required for your visa; see the checklists provided under “Visa Types”. Gather together required supporting documentation for your application.

To avoid delays all supporting documentation should be submitted at the time of application

Make an appointment with the AVAC to lodge your application and submit your biometrics

Step 4

Lodge your visa application and submit your biometric data at an AVAC. The Australian Visa Office may contact you to request additional information.
