Child (subclass 101)
This visa is for those applicants who are the dependent child of an Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen

Adoption (subclass 102)
This visa is for those applicants (under 18 years of age) who have been adopted by an Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen.

Orphan Relative (subclass 117)
This visa is for those applicants (under 18 years of age) who are orphan relatives of an Australian relative who is an Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen.

VISA APPLICATION
PROCESS

Step 1

Select a visa subclass which is appropriate for the purpose of your travel to Australia and download the relevant visa application form.

Please note: You can also obtain a visa application form at the Australian Visa Application Centre (AVAC).

Step 2

Your visa application may require supporting documentation For a list of supporting documentation required for your visa; see the checklists provided under “Visa Types”. Gather together required supporting documentation for your application.

To avoid delays all supporting documentation should be submitted at the time of application

Step 3

Make an appointment with the AVAC to lodge your application and submit your biometrics

Step 4

Lodge your visa application and submit your biometric data at an AVAC. The Australian Visa Office may contact you to request additional information.
